Born in Saint-Ignace NB, Janine grew up admiring her mother’s paintings and developed an
early appreciation for art. With the sudden loss of her Mother in 2002, Janine put aside her
talent in order to follow her heart towards new life adventures.

Throughout the years, Janine travelled the world by herself. Having voyaged around the globe
from hitchhiking in many countries, walking the Camino de Santiago and working on a cruise
ship, she was fortunate to experience numerous cultures, languages and art. Returning home to
New Brunswick, she rediscovered her passion for art.

Today, rich in memories and experiences, painting has become a form of meditation for her. It
is her way of disconnecting from this crazy world and getting lost in another universe.

Preferring her pallet knives, all her paintings are rendered with oil. From portraits, landscapes,
to the world of animals, Janine, self-taught impressionist style artist, performs her work with
confidence and boldness…hence her call to expressing her natural talent.

With her recent monochrome and vintage-style painting, she gives a sense of going back in
time, and re-creating the bold and classic essence from different eras.

“I don’t know how I do what I do - I just paint what I see.”
