Having completed her CEGEP art studies Céline Genest left her hometown, Sherbrooke Québec, to pursue her education in Montréal before moving to Moncton N.B., where she got her bachelor's degree in Visual Arts.

She had a twenty-five-year CEGEP teaching career in Fashion Illustrating and Visual Arts, during which deep involvement in drawing, painting and colour classes impacted her personal work.

The artist explores and questions the boundaries of reality with different mediums. Sensorial and impulsive impressions are used to support an image, where the subject and its surrounding are in constant dialogue. Gestural brushstrokes render elements that are sometimes fluid or imprecise juxtaposed with crisper and more defined elements.

Her work is displayed in both solo shows and with fellow artists, in galleries and cultural centres in Montreal, the Laurentians and Baie-Saint-Paul, QC..

Press coverage includes La Presse de Montréal, Magazine Arts and art exhibit catalogs.

Céline Genest, professional artist member of AAAPNB, lives in Charlo, New Brunswick, where she works from her studio.
