Georges Goguen

Over the course of more than 60 years as an artist, Georges Goguen has done more than 75 exhibitions, 25 of them solo, and worked hard to promote art and artists’ rights. He has been recognized many times, winning the Strathbutler Award in 1997, multiple Canada Council grants, and in 2018, the Order of Canada. He was honoured at La Soiree des Eloizes, by the Capitol Theatre in Moncton, and has works in the NB Art Bank and Beaverbrook Gallery among many others. He participated as a featured artist in the Atlantic Provinces pavilion at Expo 67, was a founding member of Galerie 12 and Galerie Sans Nom, and the founder-director of Mini-Galerie de Radio Canada (renamed Galerie Georges-Goguen) and Café des artistes. He has been a commercial artist, a graphic artist, a teacher of art, and a jazz musician.
