Ora Watson is a retired teacher who lives in Dalhousie Junction. Although she grew up in the Miramichi, in Bay du Vin, she has lived, worked, and raised her children with her husband, Andy Watson, on the North Shore and considers it to be home.
Ora's education includes a B.A. from Saint Thomas University, some MA studies in English , and a B.Ed.. from U.N.B. Her career spanned 32 years of teaching high school English, mostly at Sugarloaf Senior High School in Campbellton.
Reflecting on painting ,or art, Ora says that painting or drawing and colouring played a big part in her life as a small child before she entered school. After she retired she turned again to painting, this time with watercolours
Inspiration for painting , Ora says of herself, comes from the persistence of memory, from her sense of interconnectness with Nature, and sometimes from her dreams . "Painting makes me happy. It's important to be able to express ourselves", she says."That's why I do it."
