Ginette Melanson was born in Moncton, New Brunswick in 1977. She currently lives in Dieppe, New Brunswick. Ginette works predominantly in the medium of acrylic paints. Her work is inspired by her travel, instincts, nature and actualities; which includes more of lanscapes and figures. Her techniques with palette knives and bright colors captures the audience's connection with her pieces. Ginette is self-thaught and has benefited from local artists and mentors. She was a finalist at the provincial art battle in 2015 and 2016 and provincial champion of 2017 which led her to compete at the 2017 art battle finals in Toronto and recent regional champion from Moncton, March 2018. She had coverage of her work through the media with Gin&Julz and former painting partner, Julie Arsenault. Ginette has been selected to participate in the Canada 150 Art Acquisitions program for NB schools and has participated at the Symposium BDC 2017. Shes has attended Shankill Castle Art Residency, Ireland and La Macina di San Cresci Art Residency, Italy in October 2017. Her solo exhibitions includes Moncton Gallery, Moncton, N.B., and Gallery Nineteen Nineteen, Halifax, N.S., both in the spring of 2018.
