In Sherbrooke, Québec, where she was born, Céline Genest studies in Visual Arts where she obtains her DEC. She then furthers her studies at l’UQAM in Montreal and completes her Bachelor in Visual Arts at l’Université de Moncton, N.B.

Following her studies in Fashion Design, she pursues a twenty-five year CEGEP teaching career in Fashion Illustration and Visual Arts. She involves herself deeply in model drawing, painting and color classes which will impact her personnal work with the human figure.

Inspired by many traditonal philosophies which draws the link between human beings and their surroundings, the artist translates this concept into painting where people and their environnement are profoundly intertwined and blurred as if time itself drifts and progresses.

Her work is displayed in both solo and group exhibits, in galleries and Centre de la Culture in Montreal, The Laurentians and Baie-Saint-Paul.

Press coverage includes La Presse de Montréal, Magazine Arts and art exhibit catalogs.

Céline Genest now lives in Charlo, New-Brunswick, where she works from her studio.
