profile
Simonne Henry Lepage was born in Bathurst, NB on August 1st, 1943. In love with shapes and color since childhood, she discovered painting in 1991. As a self-taught artist, she attended several painting workshops to acquire more knowledge, and developed her technique by observing nature and spending lots of time in her studio. In 1993, she began coaching initiation-to-oil-painting sessions. Dedicating most of her time to painting, she formally opened the Simonne Henry Painting School in 1997, and from 2002 to 2012, she was the owner of the Red Gable Gallery.

She has painted more than 1300 works, some of which have found homes in the United-States, in Europe, in Asia and in most of the Canadian provinces. She prefers to paint landscapes, flowers, portraits and abstracts, and paints for the pleasure of a finished work.

Simonne has exhibited in many different solo and group events. She was awarded a certificate of merit on Awards Night during the Restigouche River Festival in 1998. As part of its 50th anniversary celebrations in 2016, she was recognized with a Cultural Recognition award.
