profile
Starr Payne was born and raised in Campbellton NB. She is a self-taught artist who became interested in art as a child, secretly painting on her closet walls. She works mainly with acrylics as well as watercolour and mixed media. She primarily paints realism and has also found a love for abstract realism. She has a strong desire for detail and captures it in her paintings.

Although she had chosen other career paths she was always led back to Art. In 2013 she pursued her dream and opened an Art Studio called LITTLE PICASSO'S where she teaches painting to children and adults. Her studio is a bustling hive of creativity with lots of laughter and love.

During the past year she has offered paint nights (a unique social and therapeutic experience) both at her studio and various private locations, schools and health and wellness sessions. As well she has taught classes at the Sugarloaf Senior High School in Campbellton and Listuguj School.
She has also acquired a line of paint FUSION mineral paint which she is selling and offering workshops teaching various painting techniques.

This has been a busy year for her. Along with this busy schedule, she is getting married in July and building a new home which will have her dream studio overlooking the Bay of Chaleur and beautiful mountains. The studio will be much larger with outdoor patio where painting can be done on nice days. This should be ready in September.
Starr is also on the Symposium BDC Committee.

She has sold many of her paintings through the past years, both her own as well as commissioned paintings and at the Restigouche Art Gallery
