Originally from Quebec, Sylvie Pilotte is an artist working with painting and collage who lives and works in New Brunswick in recent years. One of her main artistic influences comes from graphic arts which she studied in Montreal.
Exploration is at the center of her creative process and the resulting works reflect the artist's concerns in relation to social and environmental issues. Created using mixed media that includes collage, some of these works are part of the New Brunswick Art Bank and the Galerie d'art Louise-et-Reuben- Cohen of the Université de Moncton.
In 2016, Sylvie took part in the exhibition Studio Watch, emerging artists of the Beaverbrook Art Gallery and, in 2017, she was selected for the sixth edition of Entr'ARTS, a multidisciplinary seminar for professional artists and emerging artists seeking to evolve their artistic practice taking place at the Banff Center for Arts and Creativity, in Alberta, at the end of the summer.
In addition to her work in the visual arts, Sylvie tries to contribute to the well-being of her community by helping to organize the Jeunesses Musicales Canada concerts in Dalhousie and participating in the development of gardens in the public space.
