profile
Marie-Reine Lavallée was born in Balmoral, NB and still lives in the region, in Campbellton. The artist is an analytical thinker with an unusual sense of observation. Her works express beautifully the chosen elements which act as inspired catalysts with an originality known only to her. The artist, considered self-taught is a curious and passionate individual. She has been painting seriously since 2010 and has since been taking courses and classes with various artists to improve her techniques. Her brush and knife techniques are characterized by the fluidity and audacity in her movements as well as the intensity of her colors.
She describes her life as a map where daily experiences stamped unique footprints in her character, and her compass brought her to a crossroad where painting became a passion. As the artist works, a strong relationship emerges between the canvas and her just like discovering a love affair. The excitement of being in unison with her creation brings a sense of fulfillment and blessing. She is immersed from within. Influenced by nature and people who have made a difference in her life, by curiosity and a deep sense of touch, she travels in a creative world. Rather then being boxed into a structural style, she has chosen to live her journey with a free spirit.
