I am originally from Saint Jean-Baptiste, NB, a small village perched high up in the mountains.
Nature certainly constitutes a starting point for my artistic activities. From as early as 2nd grade, under the aegis of the sisters of the Notre-Dame congregation, I hatched a peculiar interest for the arts in general. I began taking painting lessons during my first years as a school teacher, and dedicated all my leisure time to it. Since retirement, painting has become one of my favorite activities.
With painting comes a sense of freedom. I express myself somewhere midway between abstraction and realism. Colors and forms have quickly become my favorite artistic vitamins. They often will trigger the birth of a new work.
I consider myself to be somewhat of a seeker, I love playing with various mediums such as drawing, oils, acrylics, and encaustic as well as inks. I also like to experiment with different supports.
My paintings only reveal a subtle essence leaving room for the observer to complete the work themselves with their own emotions.
Through my work I often tip my hat to writers, musicians and even to nature. I also tackle certain world issues.
To spread beauty is my main objective. As André Marchand says so well : 'Perhaps I paint to arise'.
