Adrienne Elfner-Hazen

profile
Adrienne relocated to Bathurst from Calgary, Alberta in 1987 after completing her degree in Fine Arts at the University of Calgary.

Art was very important in her life and over many years she has studied and taught mediums of drawing, pastels, collage, ceramics, acrylic, and children's art.

In 1991 she became a fledgling member of the Chaleur Nepisiguit Association of Art and Culture, an Anglophone organization formed to promote art through friendship, networking, education, and development of the arts in the region.

Adrienne served as president in two terms over 11 years. In that time the name of the organization was simplified to the Bathurst Art Society and the first artist-run gallery "The Little Gallery" was established. In 2003 the gallery was relocated to La Promenade and renamed the Bay Breeze Art Gallery.

Adrienne continues to teach various classes at the gallery and in the public school system. To her art is a lifelong process and one that is an integral part of everyday living.
