Born in Dalhousie, New Brunswick, Jessie has loved drawing since she can
remember. Her mediums of choice include graphite, coloured pencils and charcoal. Often,
her drawings attain a high degree of finish and detail, reinforcing the connection to both
graphic design and illustration.
In 2011, she was chosen to be a member of Team New Brunswick as a visual artist
for the National Artists Program (NAP) for the Canada Winter Games. Her work has been
shown in Nova Scotia, New Brunswick, Ontario and Alberta.
Jessie received a Bachelor of Fine Art (Major in Fine Art, Minor in Drawing) from
NSCAD University in Nova Scotia in 2012. The same year, she was selected as the
winner for Nova Scotia in the 2012 BMO 1st Art! Student Art Competition for her drawing,
The Fall. In 2013, her drawing, Valmont (a portrait of her grandfather), was awarded the
Kingston Prize's People's Choice Award.
Jessie currently lives and works in New Brunswick.
