Alexa Audet, a 17-year-old student who will start her 12th year this September 2017 at Aux Quatre Vents school in Dalhousie, NB, started drawing around the age of 4. Her first passion was cartoons she pencilled from TV or video games. In elementary school, she was chosen with two other students to make illustrations for a book commissioned by the Caisse Populaire dedicated to a teacher that passed away. At her primary school graduation, she won a Certificate of Visual Art Merit from the Académie Notre Dame in 2013-2014. In high school, teachers quickly discovered her artistic talent. In addition, Eve Levesque, her teacher in the 9th and 11th years, showed her the basic techniques of drawing: shadows and light, lines and shapes, perspective and proportions. She also touched several different styles of art such as automatism, minimalism, cubism, impressionism and expressionism. Levesque had an impact on Alexa's life as Alexa decided to pursue drawing more seriously. During the summer of 2015, during her stay in Ottawa, she took a course to improve her drawing skills and to work with her imagination. Even after trying a lot of different styles, Alexa returns to her realistic style and her passion for human shapes.

I like exploring my creativity through art, it's my way of finding peace of mind as I find it therapeutic.
